SHOOP Spring/Summer 2025
by Adriano Batista
SHOOP‘s latest collection, Spring/Summer 2025, is a harmonious blend of classic and contemporary design, inspired by the improvisational spirit of jazz. Just as jazz musicians reinterpret melodies and chords to create unique interpretations, SHOOP reimagines traditional elements to present them in a fresh and innovative way.
The collection’s standout feature is the incorporation of oversized pinching and pleating techniques, which transform oversized garments into intricate and visually striking pieces. Knitwear is adorned with hand-crafted geometric patterns, while some items appear splattered with paint, evoking a sense of history and the passage of time. These elements come together to create designs that are both timeless and trendsetting.
SHOOP also encourages introspection with the use of mirror buttons and the thought-provoking question, “Who are you?” featured on one of its graphics. In the spirit of jazz classics, SHOOP aims to create pieces that stand the test of time. The iconic quote by Miles Davis, “If you hit a wrong note, it’s the next note that you play that determines if it’s good or bad,” becomes the motto of this collection, representing the courage to experiment and push boundaries without fear of mistakes.
Expanding its basics line, SHOOP introduces new designs in technical fabrics, knit accessories, and tricot pieces. The collection’s imagery, captured by the photography duo ENANEI in Tokyo’s Nakameguro district, adds a vibrant urban energy to the pieces, reflecting the city’s dynamic atmosphere.
