SANGUE NOVO at ModaLisboa “Capital”

The new edition of SANGUE NOVO showcased the work of five young designers who represent the purest and most experimental side of creativity. Supported by Seaside, these finalists explored themes like fashion as a dream achievable through conscious choices, a near-future dystopia without a middle class, the blending of traditional techniques with modern technology, emotional depth expressed through bold shapes, and the breaking of gender norms. Their collections also played with the visual tension between the past and the future.
Selected in October 2024, the designers—Dri Martins, Duarte Jorge (winner of the ModaLisboa X IED Istituto Europeo di Design Award), Francisca Nabinho, Gabriel Silva Barros (winner of the ModaLisboa X RDD Textiles Award), and Ihanny Luquessa—presented their work at MODALISBOA CAPITAL. Over the past six months, they had grown conceptually and commercially, guided by mentorship from the competition’s jury.
