Samsøe-Samsøe x Giotto Calendoli is shaping up to be one of the coolest collabs of summer
by Gabriel Córdoba Acosta
The field of collaborations is one of the widest and there is always room for a new one, especially if it is as cool as the latest one launched by Danish brand Samsøe Samsøe and Italian content creator and chef Giotto Calendoli – available now for purchase both in stores and online.
The aforementioned alliance has come as a surprise to virtually no one since the two parties already worked together last year on a project that turned out to be a success. For 2024, they have teamed up again to design a series of summery items that any lover of fun and casual style will want to have in their wardrobe, such as tote bags, T-shirts, and baseball caps.
At first glance, these pieces may seem simple, but if you take a closer look, you will see that they go much further, partly because of the illustrations and phrases with the characteristic Calendoli lettering that have been added and that will never go out of fashion; illustrations and phrases that have been inspired by the summers that Giotto spent on the beaches near his city of origin, Naples.
Both the ideation process and the final designs are captured by a special campaign that shows Calendoli at the brand’s headquarters in Nørrebro, wearing looks from the collaboration as well as other styles from Samsøe Samsøe’s PA24 collection. The shots provide an exclusive insight behind the scenes – both in terms of showcasing the modern office space with its Scandinavian simplicity and presenting some of the scenes and phrases that inspired the final designs.
