The London-based brand with Middle Eastern heritage, Qasimi, presented its SS25 collection during London Fashion Week. It was the first live show under the creative direction of Hoor Al Qasimi since she took the helm in 2020.

The SS’25 collection was created in collaboration with the New York-based visual artist Kambui Olujimi, drawing significant inspiration from Olujimi’s “When Monuments Fall”. A series of paintings and sculptures that explore the recontextualization of historical and cultural monuments, their roles, and narratives around them. Al Qasimi’s team has centered the collection around the concept of “spolia” – stones taken from older architectural structures and repurposed for the new designs. The collection merges Middle Eastern heritage, Qasimi’s visual identity, and Olujimi’s works with contemporary aesthetics.

A blend of fluid and structured silhouettes, soft colors, silks, lightweight cotton, layering, and complex draping with digital prints of Olujimi’s artwork all created a powerful image of modern monuments walking on the runway and marked the successful artistic return of the brand.
