Where is the limit of creativity? The answer to this question is very subjective, as it depends on the person, but as far as Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons – the current creative directors of the Italian fashion house Prada – are concerned, it is more than clear that nowhere, as the designer duo together with their perfect team are one of the few, if not the only ones, who season after season offer something fresh and innovative to the fashion industry, which is in a delicate/difficult moment.
Now is not the time to talk about sad topics but about the opposite, and taking the word difficult in its best acceptance and accompanying it with another word such as complex, those two could be the perfect adjectives that a priori could define better both the Fall/Winter 2025 proposal called “Unbroken Instincts” presented at the Fondazione Prada’s warehouse during the last edition of Milan Fashion Week, as well as the industrial style set by OMA/AMO that was located inside the space, contrasting with the blue tactile carpet with cream floral prints designed by Catherine Martin. This decorative feature gave a certain aspect of closeness and made one feel at home and the only thing one felt like doing was sitting down to enjoy a first-class show loaded with high doses of design.
Like it or not, design is an element that is never missing in any Prada work, because when one sees a look on the catwalk, one sees truly elaborate garments or accessories with a story behind them, and not dull pieces that stand out because of the work of the stylist in charge. In the luxury firm’s latest line, the aforementioned has happened again, and proof of this are the almost 60 looks that make it up, inspired in a small part by the Wild West and moved by romanticism and all that that entails, such as the elevation of emotion and passion, even above the rational. But who is rational when in love? Few. At that moment, even geniuses fail or feel more vulnerable, the key is to surround yourself with a good partner so that when that happens, the other makes up for it, as well as having good communication and trust in the other person. If that is achieved, all will be well.
Signora Prada and the revered Belgian designer Simons, after four years of working together, have shown that they are the perfect tandem since the creations developed by the two of them can be seen as both identities. On the one hand, there is the classicism of Miuccia and then there is the avant-garde, dark vibe of Raf. The combination of the two results in truly interesting clothes, such as coats, parkas, or down jackets with exaggerated and asymmetrical fur collars; crop tops with floral prints that fit the male body; perfect tailored suits worn unexpectedly with cowboy boots; knitwear that in addition to adding coziness to the look adds sensuality; tailored trousers that appear to be satin from a distance but when you get up close are leather; and finally xl hats and bowling bags in different colours and sizes.
Prada never fails and once again proved that always go beyond. Have a look at the Fall/Winter 2025 collection below:
