Stéphane Ashpool, in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee, has unveiled a project that reimagines everyday urban elements as dynamic sports installations.
Under the banner “Paris is Your Playground,” Ashpool has transformed mundane street furniture into inspiring and inclusive sports equipment. A humble streetlamp now doubles as a basketball hoop and a compact volleyball court, while a park bench morphs into a football goal. These playful interventions aim to bring the Olympic spirit to the heart of the city, encouraging residents and visitors alike to embrace an active lifestyle.
Located in the vibrant Saint-Denis suburb, with the iconic Stade de France as a breathtaking backdrop, the installations are a testament to Ashpool’s vision of sport as a unifying force. By choosing team sports for his designs, the designer hopes to foster a sense of community and inclusivity.
