Palace Drop Debut Collaboration with Baracuta
by Adriano Batista
The North and South merge their iconic styles as Baracuta, Manchester’s finest, joins forces with London legends Palace Skateboards. Together, they unveiled a reimagined line of GORE-TEX garments that strike the perfect balance between modern direction and nostalgic charm. The fabric, bridging the realms of nature and urban living, serves as the ultimate protector against the elements, flawlessly blending Baracuta’s golfing heritage with Palace’s streetwear world.

Inspired by Baracuta’s contemporary menswear and sportswear archives crafted for the golf course, the collaboration centers on two iconic pieces – the relaxed, boxy G4 with its signature dog ear collar, double-button closure, and cuffed sleeves, and the quintessential British single-breasted G12 trench, boasting an A-line silhouette, back cape, and umbrella vent.

Palace elevates the G4 to bold proportions with an oversized GORE-TEX shell cropped at the hip, rounded shoulders, thermal taped seams, and slanted pockets in striking cobalt blue and military green. A nod to the late ’80s, this revived G4 emerges as the perfect layering piece, bravely defying the unpredictable elements of old Blighty.

Meanwhile, the G12 undergoes a vibrant transformation with Palace’s touch. Adorned in eye-catching orange microporous GORE-TEX, the trench gains strength with thermal taped seams, ensuring its waterproof, windproof, and breathable qualities. The ageless, tailored mac features an embroidered co-branded logo on the forearm, just above the distinctive double-button adjustable wrist cuff.

Through this collaboration, Palace and Baracuta celebrate their profound impact on British youth culture, transcending subcultures of the past and present to create products that embody necessity, diversity, and authenticity. Available now at palaceskateboards.com.
