Off-White™ gears up for the release of the VULCANIZED 779 (VULC 779), the final sneaker designed by the brand’s visionary founder, Virgil Abloh. This launch goes beyond a product; it’s a tribute to Abloh’s dedication to skateboarding and fostering a global skate community.

The VULC 779 itself embodies Abloh’s passion for skateboarding. The design prioritizes functionality, with reinforced toe caps, heel cups, and soles built to withstand the demands of the sport. These features come in four distinct colorways – Black-Black, Army Green-Blue, White-Beige, and Dark Grey-Ice – each showcasing a unique material and color combination.

The name, VULC 779, holds a special significance. It references 815/779, the area code of Abloh’s hometown, Rockford City, Illinois. This personal touch reflects Abloh’s commitment to inclusivity, a sentiment echoed in his own words: “We’re making a global community regardless of the elitism or sort of territorial-ness that can happen in subculture.

The launch campaign champions this very idea. Featuring a diverse group of skaters – Gabriel Fortunato, Adrianne Sloboh, Davey Sales, Yuri Facchini, Jessyka Bailey, and Marie De Courcy – the campaign celebrates the spirit of community that underpins skateboarding culture.
