Nike and FOOTDISTRICT Host MAD POWERED BY 8 Event in Madrid
by Adriano Batista
Nike, in collaboration with FOOTDISTRICT, recently hosted MAD POWERED BY 8, an 8-hour event centered around experimentation and inspired by the new Air Max Dn8. The event focused on exploring creativity and cultural connection through sport, music, and performance, bringing together key figures from the national scene to lead workshops and celebrate collective expression.
The event was divided into two parts: guided experimentation and a collective celebration. The first part featured three workshops led by influential creators. Rio Dulce Club hosted the Urban Football Lab, where participants designed their own footballs, reflecting their personal connection to the sport. Eight unique balls were created and shared with the community. Mercabae led a Music Experimentation workshop, where participants used an eight-beat rhythm structure to create a collective musical piece, blending different genres. Candela Capitán guided From Concept to Action, a workshop exploring her creative process, which includes social criticism, body representation, and technology. Attendees developed the beginnings of a new performance piece under her direction.
The second part of the event opened its doors to Madrid’s cultural community, creating a space for music, interaction, and spontaneity. DJ sets by Zsongo and El Bugg set the tone for the night, turning the event into a lively celebration of creativity. The atmosphere was free and unstructured, allowing attendees to connect and express themselves in their own ways.
