MR PORTER Launches Exclusive Capsule Collection With Gallery Dept.
by Adriano Batista
MR PORTER is joining forces with LA’s Gallery Dept. for an exclusive capsule collection set to drop on October 11. This 26-piece collection spans ready-to-wear and bags, embodying the unique style that Gallery Dept. is known for.
Gallery Dept. sticks to its ethos of giving vintage clothing a new lease on life, resulting in one-of-a-kind pieces within this collection. Denim takes center stage, a nod to their roots in reviving vintage Levi’s 501 jeans. Notable pieces include the G-patch denim jeans, featuring hand-embroidered details, and the rip-and-repair denim jeans and jacket, both bearing that classic silhouette, but with a twist – they’re hand-distressed, printed, and dyed for a distinct artistic touch.
From the brand’s archives, iconic T-shirts make a comeback, sporting “Art That Kills” slogans and hand-splattered paint for a fresh look. Best-sellers also get a makeover with exclusive washes and abstract bleached dyes.
Gallery Dept.’s patchwork experimentation shines through on a denim jacket, camouflage painter trousers, and a gilet. Even the classic hoodie gets the custom treatment with hand-stitched G-patch detailing, making each one a unique masterpiece.
