MODALISBOA FOR GOOD: Sangue Novo Backstage!

The grand finale of the ModaLisboa Young Designers contest, known as SANGUE NOVO, took place on March 8th in Lisbon. This second and final phase follows a series of mentoring sessions where the six emerging designers received guidance from the jury members and fashion industry experts. With the support of SANGUE NOVO textile partnerships, these talented individuals have crafted new collections ready to be showcased to an international audience.
The venue for this event was the historic Pátio da Galé, where the designers competed for the ModaLisboa X IED (European Institute di Design) award, the ModaLisboa X RDD Textiles award, and the ModaLisboa X Showpress award. The collections presented embody a theme of neo-nostalgia, weaving together elements of fantasy and reality, personal memories, and the assertion of individual identities. These designs are not only aesthetically pleasing but also carry a profound consciousness of their environmental and social footprint, signaling a transformative beat in the rhythm of today’s fashion system.
The participants were BÁRBARA ATANÁSIO (winner of the ModaLisboa X RDD Textile award), ÇAL PFUNGST, ISZA (winner of the ModaLisboa X IED award), M.PLATEAU, MARIA DO CARMO STUDIO, and MESTRE STUDIO.
