Miu Miu is once again counting on male models to show off its latest creations
by Gabriel Córdoba Acosta
The fashion house Miu Miu has been one of the last to present its Spring/Summer 23 proposal during the Paris Fashion Week (PFW). The collection was a success and in keeping with the style of what Miuccia Prada has been designing lately. But if there was one thing that came back, and we say came back because she did it in her previous show, it was putting male models on the catwalk wearing the brand’s latest designs.
Why is Miu Miu doing this, is it part of a new market strategy? Last year when the male models walked the catwalk for the first time, rumors of an entry into menswear automatically went wild, rumors that were soon denied.
In the event that this is a new way of patenting the market and seeing how the public and followers of the brand react, Miu Miu is succeeding, given that it is managing to generate the interest it deserves from the men’s fashion sector, and it’s no wonder given that the looks worn by the men are at least appetizing. Who hasn’t imagined wearing these garments? It’s impossible not to when you see the light parkas on offer, the low-rise chino-style shorts, or the denim and leather garments with a worn-out effect. And it’s impossible to say no to knitted jumpers and tailored trousers.
We don’t know if Miu Miu will finally decide to make men’s fashion, but looking at the looks, it’s starting to become a must-have. It’s just a matter of time.
