Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2025
by Anna Barr
Louis Vuitton kicked off Paris Fashion Week with their Men’s Spring-Summer 2025 Collection by Pharrell Williams “Le Monde es à vous” or “The World is Yours”, reminding us of the brand’s spirit of travel or we can even say “art of travel”. Staged at UNESCO, the location speaks volumes, on freedom of expression and intercultural dialogue. The creative director chose this concept, for his fourth fashion show for Louis Vuitton, to honor the intercultural interaction and universality that the Maison encourages via its commitment to craftsmanship and travel history, emphasizing how travel aids in mind exploration and nourishment.
Models walked out on an LV-inspired grass Damier to the soundtrack created by Pharrell Williams by blending three of his original pieces: Triumphus Cosmos by Pharrell Williams; Birds Don’t Sing by Clipse (featuring John Legend); and Falling Up by Adekunle Gold, Pharrell Williams, and Niles Rodgers.
The collection began with strict black-on-black blocking before moving to warm off-brown towns followed by softer, muted hues evoking second skins before going deep in color. Codes of travelers were prevalent from aviation to the leisurely dandy playing with pearl piping, belts, sock stockings with embroidered detailing, and Mary-Janes were all show stoppers meanwhile sports fans will be talking about the high-top LV Footprint Runner and Soccer models. Little charms and key rings, like those we collect on our travels, are found in the images of globes, aliens, planes, trunks, and even cassette tapes.
The aviation theme ran throughout the collection from clothing to accessories including winged frames, and aviator caps, to the artistic exchange with Air Afrique, a creative collection that collaborated on various logos and patterns including a Damier-infused tartan which was also found crafted into bags and trunks. The other big debut was the line of soft leather goods in archive shapes, while the series of bags hand-crafted entirely in pearls struck a chord with just about any dreamer.
