“KENZO University” Celebrates New Drop in Paris
by Anna Barr
Creative Director Nigo and KENZO welcomed friends to celebrate the fifth and latest drop of the Fall/Winter 2022 collection during Paris Fashion Week. The iconic Cirque d’Hiver set the stage for Doja Cat, full of energy and playfulness during her set which saw everyone dancing and singing. Since the brand’s beginning in the 1970s by Kenzo Takada, it has brought an unapologetic “Joie de Vivre” that continues to resonate to this day with multiple generations.
There was a back-to-school mood with the “KENZO University” theme that rang a bell with many people, who are just starting to feel not that we going back to normal after the global pandemic, but that we are going forward, with new knowledge, new ideas, new experiences including the Web3 layer Kenzo created that saw guests able to turn their invitation to the party into an NFT.
From arrivals to the stables of the Cirque d’Hiver, guests were decked out in the new drop. Familiar faces from all different creative avenues that came out to celebrate included Alton Mason, Charli XCX, Cruz and Romeo Beckham, Eddy de Pretto, Ella Emhoff, Emerirc Tchatchoua, Evan Mock, Ghali, Guram Gvasalia, Halsey, Jeong Jin Park, Jnr Choi, Josef, Kemio, Maisie Williams, Naps, Pharrell Williams, Shuzo, Yamato, Sulivan Gwed, The 87, Sundy Jules, Tyga, Tyler the Creator and many more.
