KENZO‘s Fall/Winter 2024 collection takes us on a cosmic journey, exploring the intersections of East and West, past and future, nature and technology. Inspired by the sci-fi landscapes of Star Wars and the cinematic grandeur of Akira Kurosawa’s samurai films, the campaign transports us to the volcanic landscapes of Lanzarote, a Martian-like terrain that serves as the backdrop for this intergalactic adventure.
At the heart of the collection lies a celebration of diversity and humanity. The ensemble cast, a mix of alien and human faces, reflects the global nature of our planet. The clothing itself is a fusion of traditional Japanese elements, such as kimonos and hakeshi baten jackets, with futuristic designs and space-inspired motifs. The result is a wardrobe that feels both grounded and otherworldly.
