After months of speculation about Jonathan Anderson’s departure from Loewe, the day has finally (and unfortunately) arrived when it has been confirmed.

The news related to the British designer was announced this morning on his Instagram profile, in which after several days of sharing some of his highlights during the eleven years he has been at the fashion house as Creative Director, he has concluded with a post in which a black-and-white portrait of himself appears, accompanied by a beautiful text capable of touching anyone who reads it.

From the moment Anderson joined the firm, it began to experience the kind of exceptional growth that few others have achieved, establishing itself as one of the pioneers in offering a modern take on luxury fashion and culture, but also promoting the launch of the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize, a platform that supports the visibility of endangered crafts around the world.

It’s official and there seems to be no turning back. Jonathan Anderson has concluded this period by saying: “Reflecting on the last 11 years, I have been fortunate to be surrounded by people with imagination, skill, tenacity, and ingenuity, who have found a way to say “yes” to all of my wildly ambitious ideas. Although my time at the House is coming to an end, the LOEWE story will continue for many years to come and I will watch with pride as the incredible Spanish brand I once called ‘home’ continues to grow.”

Jonathan, thank you for enriching the history of fashion and art, and for the impeccable work you have done during this decade. Your legacy will be eternal.
