Res Ipsa was founded by two lawyers who concluded that the world needs fewer lawyers but more happiness. Res Ipsa name come from the Latin phrase res ipsa loquitur, “the thing speaks for itself”. The res ipsa doctrine was first used in the English court case Byrne v Boadle (1863), and applies to sell- evident facts.
A classic British loafer was chosen as the first prototype and the idea for Res Ipsa was born.
Best known for the handmade kilim shoes, and other kilim travel accessories, Res Ipsa is still inspired by travels to the great cities of the world. From weekend breaks in Panama City Beach to everyday life in Atlanta, the brand is about travels.
