Lanvin has a new signature color. It is called Lanvin Blue, and it is more than just a shade. It is a direct link to the past, a brighter and deeper hue inspired by a tone the founder, Jeanne Lanvin, especially loved.

This move is part of a larger story. After redesigning its logo in 2022, the house has again worked with M/M Paris to define this new chromatic emblem. For France’s oldest continually operating couture house, color is identity.

The story of this blue began a century ago. Jeanne Lanvin developed a fascination with the color in Florence, where she gazed at the blue skies in Fra Angelico’s frescoes “until her neck ached.” This sparked a lifelong pursuit. She eventually created 23 distinct shades of blue at her dye factory, using them not just in her clothing but in everything from Parisian theaters to her own bedroom. For her, blue was not a single idea, but a spectrum, reflecting the nuance and depth of her vision.

Today, this new Lanvin Blue is coming to life. It debuts on the maison’s new packaging, now in boutiques worldwide. Artistic Director Peter Copping has woven the hue into the linings and trims of his first accessories collection.

The journey of Lanvin Blue is just beginning. It will find its full expression in Peter Copping’s upcoming Summer 2026 collection, to be shown at Paris Fashion Week. It is a color with a history, now being written into the future.
