Are you one of the thousands of adepts of HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE? Then this might interest you. First of all, grab a pen and paper and write down the following date: 22 August 2024. That’s the day when the brand will launch its first series of items from the Fall/Winter 2024 collaboration project, called “Creative Session” with designer/artist Ronan Bouroullec. As further information, this project engages the brand’s design team to work with Ronan’s drawings, not just as a portfolio of works to be appreciated as art, but rather as an extensive set of diverse materials to be immersed in and played with freely.

The series referred to was presented last January at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris during fashion week and delves into the jungles of creativity, exploring in turn the translation of creative material into garment design and analysing the relationship between a concept and its actual realisation. In addition, it also addresses the notion that the interpretation of creative visuals goes beyond turning them into motifs and patterns, and how the body of work acts as ingredients incorporated into the design and making of the pieces, forming a harmonious creative process.

Part one of this creative session will be released on the date mentioned at the beginning of the article, while the rest will arrive in October and November 2024.
