Gucci Welcomes Yuzuru Hanyu as Its Newest Brand Ambassador
by Adriano Batista
Gucci is welcoming the distinguished Japanese figure skater, Yuzuru Hanyu, as its latest brand ambassador.

Yuzuru Hanyu, an athlete celebrated for his remarkable achievements in figure skating, embarked on this journey at a tender age of four. His illustrious career is highlighted by his historic victories, clinching gold medals in the men’s singles at two successive Olympic Games – Sochi 2014 and PyeongChang 2018. In 2020, Hanyu not only completed the grand slam of major international competitions but also earned the distinction of being the youngest recipient of the Japanese People’s Honor Award. July 2022 marked a new chapter in his career as he turned professional, continuing to innovate in figure skating by organizing ice shows and contributing to the recovery efforts of Sendai, his hometown, post the Great East Japan Earthquake. His foray into fashion photography in 2023, showcased at the Gucci Ginza Gallery’s inaugural exhibition, revealed his dynamic allure and vibrant energy.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Hanyu remarked, “Joining the Gucci community is a privilege. The brand’s longstanding commitment to craftsmanship and its unparalleled creative spirit have captivated countless admirers, myself included, especially in Japan. I eagerly anticipate further exploring the enchanting world of Gucci.”
