Givenchy Unveils Pre-Fall 2024 Collection
by Adriano Batista
Givenchy has unveiled its Pre-Fall 2024 collection, which showcases a philosophy of fluidity and ease of dressing. The collection also explores new ideas of formality, inspired by the runway shows and the legacy of the House’s founder, Hubert de Givenchy.
The men’s collection reflects the elegance and sophistication of Hubert de Givenchy, who was known for his impeccable tailoring and refined style. The collection features floral graphics, a tribute to his love of gardens, as well as unexpected colors and revisited classics. The collection also incorporates elements of subcultures, such as a white tuxedo or a black and gold leather perfecto, to create a contrast between tradition and modernity.
The collection showcases the House’s codes and savoir-faire, with technical fabric developments and hand embroidery. For example, wool suiting fabric is treated with resin to make it wind- and waterproof, and hand-applied flowers embellish machine-embroidered tulle. The key men’s accessory of the season is the Voyou crossbody, a versatile bag made of hand-aged leather or supple suede embossed versions.
The men’s footwear offers several new developments, such as the Nfnty-52, a vintage shape with a lightweight and highly resistant Pebax sole, which demonstrates Givenchy’s innovation and leadership in the luxury industry. In another first, Givenchy has partnered with Bogs, a maker of vulcanized, waterproof shoes based in Portland, Oregon, to create a unique Chelsea slip-on boot or lace-up trail boots. These shoes are adorned with Givenchy signatures and come fitted with a 4G sock liner in technical neoprene. Both styles are available in black or beige.
The Pre-Fall 2024 collection is a testament to Givenchy’s vision of modern elegance and confidence, and offers a contemporary and iconic wardrobe for the discerning gentleman.
