Feng Chen Wang‘s Spring/Summer 2024 collection draws inspiration from the cherished moments of her childhood, where she strolled alongside her grandmother through picturesque landscapes of Fujian, China. These sentimental memories have been etched deeply within Wang’s heart, evoking profound feelings of love and nostalgia that endure to this day.
In this season, Wang embarks on a journey to honor these cherished recollections through a fascinating technique: the ancient art of botanical contact printing. Collaborating with skilled local artisans, Wang carefully handpicked her grandmother’s beloved flora, including onions, gallnuts, eucalyptus, and apple leaves. Employing traditional Chinese silk as her canvas, she skillfully pounded these natural treasures onto the fabric, capturing their vibrant colors, intricate forms, and delicate veins in a stunning imprint.
