Federico Cina‘s Fall/Winter 2025 collection, “Assunta e Giacomo,” is a moving tribute to his grandparents. Presented during Milan Fashion Week, it was a performance that brought their memories to life. The clothes themselves are inspired by their everyday lives – the comfortable loungewear, the sturdy work clothes, the special occasion outfits. But the real magic happened in the show itself.
Models acted out scenes from the grandparents’ lives, recreating their routines and habits. It was like watching old home movies but with a touch of theater. Simple gestures, like the way they might have folded laundry or prepared a meal, become powerful symbols of their love and the impact they had on Federico’s life.
The set design was also very personal, inspired by their home. Like stepping back in time, into a place filled with memories. The show became a way for Federico to share his grandparents with the world, to keep their spirit alive.
