FAMOUS LAST WORDS (an ode to eaters): Matthew M. Williams’ Musical Odyssey with 1017 ALYX 9SM
by Adriano Batista
Matthew M. Williams has an impressive music background: he’s been a creative director for global artists, crafting custom fashion show soundtracks and engaging in unique musical collaborations. His passion for alternative and subversive music cultures continues to drive his work. Teaming up with his longtime friend, Alamo Records founder & CEO Todd Moscowitz, they’ve embarked on a project that fuses original, avant-garde music with the latest 1017 ALYX 9SM collection.

Ethel Cain’s “FAMOUS LAST WORDS (An ode to eaters),” the first single from the upcoming 1017 ALYX 9SM Compilation Vol.1, marks Williams’ debut mixtape project for the brand he founded back in 2014.
Ethel Cain, the enigmatic daughter of a deceased preacher-man caught in an exodus, finds herself on a dizzying journey to escape her stifling past, only to be swallowed whole by it in the end. The mastermind behind the visceral and haunting world of Ethel Cain is Hayden Anhedönia. Expect more from Cain with new music releases later this year and a string of performances at major festivals around the world.
Curated by Matthew M. Williams, the compilation produced by Alamo Records will showcase a selection of talented artists, with singles dropping throughout the summer and the full compilation scheduled for an early September release.
