Ethically Sourced Amoln Candles
by Anna Barr
As we are spending more time at home, luxury candles are on the top of everyone’s wish list bringing home a warm smell is just one way we are pampering ourselves. A burning flame also brings a sense of calm that transports us to different spaces while relaxing our minds. I’ve been on the search for candles with all the notes of luxury when I first stumbled on Amoln on Instagram. More specifically, I wanted something to bring me back to nature and help escape the city life.

The Swedish perfumery, Amoln, is quite new on the lifestyle scene having just launched in 2019, it is aligned with Nordic ecological living. Additionally, the design invites a unique aesthetical approach with contemporary Scandinavian living. Amoln will have you dreaming as each candle has its own story inspired by treasured memories and histories from childhood, romance, magical to stolen moments.
With environmental impacts on everyone’s minds, Amoln ethically sources the highest quality natural materials and finest fragrances from around the world for a unique clean and environmentally friendly burn lasting up to seventy hours. The blue jars are hand-painted to reduce mechanical process while the blue formula for wax is engineered in Europe to perfectly match with the jars. We love that each earthy smelling candle is handmade in Sweden with love!
Editor’s Picks:

BARR
Barr means pine needles in Swedish and this scent evokes the imaginary journey of a fairylike forest. Going off-trail, and infusing your senses with old blasted Swedish pine, fir needles, resin collected from Swedish coastal forest, sandalwoods, cinnamon, and a chorus of discrete herbs. To capture that enchanted landscape and essence, Amoln’s Barr alchemizes a bewitching blend of unique and local scents. As if gracing through Öland’s enchanted forest, Barr’s magical scent calms your mind and invokes your creativity.

CHADO
Chadō (茶道) takes inspiration from the essence and art of a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. Prepare yourself for a sojourn, savoring green tea, Japanese neroli, the clouds of Okinawan flowers, and guaiac wood. One whiff of Chado and you will find yourself in the state of Zen. Guaiac wood, cloves, and assorted garden flowers from Okinawa, found in accompanying ceremonial morsels, complete the journey of inner peace and calmness.

KASSETT
Nostalgic memories of the 80s and early 90s, when cassette tapes were essentials is wrapped up in Kassett. A ritualistic light of the wick will instantly bring your room back to the day. The complexity of Kassett’s coziness is driven by a scent of fresh green foliages mixed with Greek figs, patchouli, Icelandic woods, water jasmine, galbanum, and Tibetan roses to arrive at familiar, enveloping warmth and a tinge of independent spirits.
