ERL Fall/Winter 2025
by Gabriel Córdoba Acosta
The fashion industry is in a complicated moment and nowadays it is quite difficult to get any business operating in it off the ground. One year in business can already be considered an achievement, so imagine five, something remarkable. Eli Russell Linnetz – Founder and Creative Director of ERL – can boast the latter, as this year marks his fifth anniversary since he started his respective brand in the sector, offering all his customers and detractors his vision of California, the US state where he was born and currently resides.
Venice Beach is the place from where Russell develops all his collections, always characterised by optimism and a relaxed style. As for the latest, recently unveiled in presentation format in Paris during Fashion Week and accompanied by a lookbook in which Linnetz only wanted to include the garments he considered truly essential in a man’s wardrobe – a reflection obtained after the fires in Los Angeles – among which were garments in sophisticated, pastel tones in the form of coats in avant-garde shapes and technical fabrics, some lined with the characteristic Californian shearling; tailored nylon tailoring, which steers the company in a more sophisticated direction; cozy knitwear such as down jumpers of different shapes and proportions; American shirts; and jeans, capturing an effortless richness reminiscent of another era.
In a good proposal you can’t miss the footwear and accessories, that’s when the already considered cult item ‘Vamp shoe’ comes in, presented in new fabrics and colours, such as corduroy and frosted blue foam, the expected ERL “High top vamp skate”, debuting in black and brown suede with neoprene lining; or the fine skater belts, made of crocodile and different leathers that mark a new world of ERL accessories.
Congratulations Eli on this date and on the new era you are starting for the brand, always exploring the role of the modern American man.
