An unprecedented cultural event showcasing exhibitions, performances, panel discussions and other activities was held in Factory Tbilisi and other special locations around the Georgian capital.

The Culture Week Tbilisi created a cultural bridge between Georgia and Ukraine, in an event organized by Sofia Tchkonia (the founder of one of the most significant fashion weeks in Eastern Europe – Mercedes- Benz Fashion Week Tbilisi, BoF 500), Eugene Bereznitsky (curator, collector, founder of the Kyiv Art Week International Festival and the Kyiv Art Fair) and Serge Kerbitskyi (art expert, who’s been promoting Ukrainian culture and art, organizer of the various charity events).

Art has always had, among many roles, that of denouncing and vindicating. And this was precisely one of the objectives of this cultural week: to give support and voice to Ukrainian artists and denounce the atrocities of the war perpetrated on Ukrainian soil in recent times.

Some of the participants included The Quatro ballet, DZ’OB BAND (Ukrainian electroacoustic ensemble), Fungus (Tbilisi-based queer art collective), Arsen Savadov (Ukrainian conceptualist photographer and painter of Armenian descent).

This has been the first edition of a festival that we hope will have a long journey in the future. We only hope that the war against the Ukrainians will end soon.
