Courrèges Returns to South Coast Plaza: A Modernist Oasis in Orange County
by Adriano Batista

Courrèges is back in Orange County, and it’s bringing a piece of Parisian futurism with it. The iconic fashion house has reopened its doors at South Coast Plaza.
The new boutique is a sleek, minimalist haven that mirrors the brand’s signature aesthetic. Designed by Belgian architect Bernard Dubois, the space is a study in contrasts: the cool, clinical precision of modernist architecture softened by the warm, inviting glow of California sunshine. Chrome, mirrors, and white dominate the interior, creating an atmosphere that is both futuristic and serene.

At the heart of the boutique lies a monolithic island showcasing Courrèges’ coveted accessories and jewelry. This central display is a testament to the brand’s focus on clean lines and functional design. The space is divided into distinct areas for men’s and women’s collections, allowing customers to fully immerse themselves in the world of Courrèges.

The opening of this new boutique is a celebration of the enduring connection between Courrèges and Southern California. As Adrien Da Maia, CEO of Courrèges, puts it, “Opening a store at South Coast Plaza is an important moment for any luxury brand with global ambitions. For Courrèges, almost 50 years after first introducing the brand to Costa Mesa, reconnecting with this thriving local community thanks to this stunning new boutique feels particularly special and exciting“.
