Burberry Summer 2025
by Gabriel Córdoba Acosta
Very cutesy, very demure, and very mindful. This is how Daniel Lee – creative director of British fashion house Burberry – imagines Summer 2025 and the men who will wear his creations, presented on the final day of London Fashion Week at the National Theatre, as a continuation of the company’s long-standing commitment to supporting arts.
Upper Ground, the specific point at which the hundreds of guests were summoned to access the show’s location, saw the stars descend from the sky to heed Lee’s call. Among them were Barry Keoghan, Skepta, Jack Harlow, Lennon Gallagher, Vinnie Hacker, and Lucky Blue, among others, dressed from head to toe in the firm, eager to discover the summer mentioned at the beginning.
The 21 elegant menswear looks that walked the powdery lilac carpet runway and made up the line, as well as perfectly matching the tones chosen to develop the set designed by artist Gary Hume, showed how much Daniel loves the countryside and the outdoors, as most of them were inspired by that environment. The designer seems to prefer to spend the summer in the UK, relaxing and escaping the heat, and dressing in relaxed styles suited to the seasonal temperatures there. For those days, a variety of different types of outerwear have been created, made from lightweight fabrics, such as deconstructed trench coats, Saharan jackets with an urban feel reminiscent of workwear with their oversized pockets, or fitted and cropped leather jackets. All of these are combined with flowing tailored trousers and vibrantly coloured trainers, softly constructed penny loafers, and sturdy clogs.
Contrary to other fashion houses, the world of trousers has been given special importance, as the model with vertical zips at the front and buttons at the bottom to modify the silhouette has continued to be patented. This will be available in different check prints, characteristic of the UK, as well as the cargo model with zips, horizontal in this case and in different parts, that promises to be seen not only in the most exclusive country areas of the country but also in any fashion week or cool event that boasts.
Bags with roots in the outdoors such as the “Country” check in grained leather, or the “B clip” in distressed leather, suede, and patchwork check leather completed the proposal and elevated Daniel Lee’s relaxed summer vibe.
