Benjamin Fredrickson‘s WEDGIES series offers a provocative exploration of power dynamics, desire, and the human form. Through a collection of photographs capturing the act of giving and receiving wedgies, Fredrickson delves into the erotic potential of a seemingly mundane and often humiliating act.

At first glance, the wedgie, a childhood prank, may seem an unlikely subject for artistic expression. However, Fredrickson transforms this simple act into a complex interplay of dominance and submission, pleasure and pain. By focusing on the male form, he subverts traditional notions of masculinity and challenges societal expectations of gender roles.

The anonymity of the subjects, their faces obscured, further emphasizes the objectification of the body. The focus shifts to the stretched underwear and the contours of the buttocks, transforming the human form into an abstract sculpture. This objectification, however, is not merely exploitative but rather a celebration of the body in all its forms.
