Once again the rumours that have been heard in the industry are confirmed. It’s official, yes, it can now be said loud and clear that Alessandro Michele is the new creative director of the Italian fashion house based in Rome Valentino, and therefore the successor of Pierpaolo Piccioli.

The appointment was announced today, before the end of the last week of March. In a press release, the designer has expressed his emotion with the following words: “It’s an incredible honour for me to be welcomed at Maison Valentino. I feel the immense joy and the huge responsibility to join a Maison de Couture that has the word ‘beauty’ carved on a collective story, made of distinctive elegance, refinement and extreme grace.”

In addition to Michele’s words, Jacopo Venturini, CEO of the company, added: “I am very happy and excited to return to work with Alessandro. I am certain that the reinterpretation of the Maison’s couture codes and the heritage created by Mr. Valentino Garavani, combined with Alessandro’s extraordinary vision, will bring us moments of great emotion and will translate into irresistibly desirable objects”.

From April 2nd, Alessandro will join the firm and begin work on the upcoming menswear, womenswear, and haute couture collections. His first work, which will be the Spring/Summer 2025 collection, will be presented in September in Paris during Fashion Week.

Expectations are high and the final result promises not to disappoint. A new era at Valentino is about to begin. Congratulations Alessandro Michele!
