Taking it back to the very beginning – how did it all start out for you?

I guess for me it all started when I moved from my hometown, São Paulo, Brazil to Sydney, Australia. Making such a big move to a country where I didn’t know anyone, and I couldn’t speak the language was a really challenging and life-changing experience. From there, I believed I could do anything.

Three words that describe your best self are…

Brave, charismatic, and generous.

How were you discovered/scouted? And what were your first feelings when you happened to sign your first contract?

Well, I rocked up to a casting I wasn’t invited to and an amazing photographer – Byron Spencer, took note of me. He introduced me to Kult models. Now, I’m represented by them in Australia, Germany, England, and Sweden.

Who’s been the best client to work with?

Each and every single client has been incredible, and I always have a lot of fun on shoots. But if I had to choose only one, I’d have to say ASOS.

Favorite modeling experience so far?

Before I moved to Australia, I had never left Brazil or had the chance to travel anywhere. I’d say the highlight of modeling for me is that this world has opened up so many unique opportunities for me to explore new places. I’m so grateful for all the experiences that I wouldn’t have had otherwise.

How’s it been for you since commencing? Please elaborate.

It’s been great! I’ve done some amazing jobs and worked with some great people. This year, I made the move to London and feel like things are progressing. I’ve got a long road ahead before I reach where I want to be but I’m excited to see where things take me.

Could you give us a fun anecdote about yourself?

I’m a big gamer. I’ve always loved playing and over the past few months, it’s kept me entertained. My go-to games are Apex, The Witcher, and Final Fantasy.

As a model living in the world of social media, what are your thoughts in regard to the whole Instagram thing?

I have a love-hate relationship with Instagram. I think it’s a great platform that has proven to be extremely beneficial in many ways. For me personally, it’s been a place for me to showcase my style and the things I’m interested in. However, I think it can be bad when people compare themselves to others…Don’t do that!

Do you feel empowered through your social media channels? If so/not, how come?

I don’t particularly feel empowered by it, but I think it’s important for my work and I do try to be active. For me, it’s a place where I can share some of jobs I’ve done as well as things that inspire me.

What’s the wisest lesson you’ve learnt being in industry?

I’ve learnt to accept myself as I am. The industry can be amazing, but it can also be brutal. If you have a strong sense of who you are, you will get through anything thrown your way.

Any advice to give the young wave of aspiring models, wanting to venture into such field?

Be yourself and never compare yourself to others. Explore your uniqueness, no matter if you’re short, tall, big, or small. If you know who you are and you have a goal and passion, you can get anywhere you want.
