Casablanca has opened its first store in the United States, located in Beverly Hills. This is only the brand’s second location worldwide. The store represents a homecoming of sorts for the label, as Los Angeles has long been a major inspiration for its founder, Charaf Tajer.

Tajer spoke about his deep connection to the city. He described being fascinated by its many cultures, from skateboarding and cinema to Chicano culture and architecture. He sees LA as a living paradox: a sunny coastal city that also possesses a certain grittiness. This mix of industry and subculture, he notes, is a harmony that mirrors the design philosophy of Casablanca itself.

The flagship occupies a former bank, a historic building with high ceilings and grand arches. Tajer and Brand Art Director Steve Grimes worked to transform the space, preserving its classical architecture while giving it a modern interpretation. Inside, a custom sound system underscores the importance of music to the brand. The design includes a mix of antique furnishings and contemporary materials, creating an environment that feels both open and intimate.
