FANG NYC made its New York Fashion Week debut with a Spring/Summer 2026 collection that drew a clear line from the past to a specific future. The presentation balanced unisex and femme-forward shapes, all anchored by the brand’s foundation in sculptural knitwear.

The inspiration was 1990s grunge, its plaids, lace, faux leather, and visible lingerie. But these elements were filtered through a techno-futurist lens and reimagined in knitwear. The result felt both nostalgic and new. Highlights included sheer constructions made with a ladder stitch, gradient jacquard, and lace paired with molded faux leather. Utilitarian details like paracord fasteners added a functional touch. Bottoms took the form of carpenter pants and reinvented ski-wear as denim, while a custom logo pattern introduced a fresh graphic voice.

The designer’s personal experience shaped the narrative. The collection drew inspiration from an indie rock musician they were seeing, drawing parallels to the queer underground raving scene that has long influenced their work. This led to revisiting concert footage and archival interviews from the ’90s (artists like Kurt Cobain and The Cranberries), which served as a foundation. A contemporary perspective was layered on top, introducing updated elements that feel relevant now. The knitted plaid and knitted lace patterns stand out as particular highlights, a point of pride and excitement for the brand’s debut.
