Emporio Armani and OUR LEGACY Work Shop are back in business
by Gabriel Córdoba Acosta
Lovers of both parties will be thrilled to have read this news headline. Indeed, Emporio Armani and Our Legacy Work Shop are back in the business after two years with their new collaboration.
The launch in question corresponds to a Spring/Summer clothing and accessories collection with subtle references to traditional East Asian attire – see for example the collarless Sciovolo shirt; the Toga coat, inspired by the structure of the kimono; or the bathrobes and hotel slippers – which serves as a continuation of the joint exploration of the Italian house’s archive of elegance, in which Armani’s fabrics and embellishments have a presence when it comes to the fabrics and embellishments; and is accompanied by an advertising campaign, photographed by Alasdair McLellan in Pantelleria, a volcanic island in the Mediterranean and a special refuge for Mr. Giorgio.
Of the collab, Giorgio Armani himself commented: “I love things that age well – things that don’t date, that stand the test of time both in terms of durability and wearability”.
Meanwhile, Christopher Nying – Creative Director of Our Legacy – added: “Designing within the boundaries of what already exists is a challenge, but also an opportunity. These fabrics have history. Seeing them come back in a new form made the whole process unexpectedly rewarding”.
When and where will the Emporio Armani and Our Legacy Work Shop Spring/Summer 2025 collection be available for sale? Today at the Armani store in Milan, located at Via Manzoni 31 – where there is a special installation -, at OUR LEGACY stores located in different cities, at Dover Street Market, and other selected outlets.
