Castaneda’s latest collection is a playful mix of childhood dreams and grown-up craftsmanship. Inspired by castles, monsters, and a promise made long ago—when designer Castaneda, at five years old, vowed to take his mother to live in a castle—the clothes explore the idea of trying to be extraordinary. But more than that, they remind us that the real magic lies in being yourself.
The collection blends everyday wear with quirky tailoring and standout headpieces. There are bunny ears in green plaid wool, horns in houndstooth, and monkey ears in tweed. The colors—deep blues, rich reds, vibrant greens, and gold—are pulled from medieval jewels, giving the clothes a fairytale glow. Hand-painted stripes, grids, and polka dots add a touch of handmade charm.
Even the classic suits get a twist, with diamond patchwork and green plaid covered in eye motifs, like something out of an old religious painting. A pair of trousers and shorts play tricks with embroidery, using scraps of silk and wool to mimic the look of royal ermine fur.
