WANSIE Fall/Winter 2025
by Adriano Batista
WANSIE’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection, titled Call Me TRIMTUB, draws inspiration from Buckminster Fuller’s revolutionary concept of the trim tab. A trim tab is a small rudder on a ship that, despite its size, can steer massive change with precise action. Fuller saw it as a metaphor for humanity: small, intentional efforts can guide the course of the world. This idea is central to the collection, reflecting WANSIE’s ethos of creating exceptional workwear for everyday life.

The collection also embraces Fuller’s concept of Dymaxion, a term combining Dynamic, Maximum, and Tension. It represents achieving the greatest impact with the least resources, a principle that resonates with WANSIE’s approach to design. Fuller’s Dymaxion Map, created in 1954, reimagined Earth’s surface by flattening it into a unified plane, rejecting traditional perspectives like “north” and “south.” This transformative worldview inspires the collection, emphasizing innovation and breaking away from conventional thinking.
The designs embody the spirit of the trim tab and Dymaxion, celebrating Fuller’s belief in the power of small, decisive actions. The collection pays tribute to his enduring legacy, guided by the words etched on his gravestone: “Call Me TRIMTUB.” These words, like the collection itself, serve as a call to action—a reminder that even the smallest gestures can have a profound impact.
