Ann Demeulemeester unveils Second Edition of “KIDS”

“‘Leaving was never my proud, Leaving New York never easy’ were the Michael Stipe lines looping while I was floating around the city documenting its underground net. It was my first time in New York: self-discovery and discovering new artists and friends come together in a flux, a natural and spontaneous process that spawns this second chapter of KIDS, a new celebration of community and creativity” – says Stefano Gallici.
Ann Demeulemeester sees a cultural project in the form of a visual diary curated by creative director Stefano Gallici with the release of the second edition of KIDS, following the popularity of the first chapter. This new chapter focuses on the diverse fabric that makes up New York’s underground art and culture. KIDS rewrites the boundaries of the fashion campaign even beyond, developing into a potent platform that ignites talent and cultivates deep connections.
With New York as its backdrop, the second edition highlights the house’s dedication to accepting variety, encouraging creativity, and honoring the potency of artistic expression when done collectively. It accomplishes this while preserving a dynamic and ever-evolving spirit that will be further examined and developed in subsequent installments.
A fresh group of creators and artists who capture the vitality and diversity of New York’s vibrant creative scene are assembled for this edition. Shot over the course of a week in both well-known and obscure parts of the city, the eclectic cast includes painter Hunter Amos, musician Stella Rose Gahan, actor Quintessa Swindell, designer Jakob Hetzer, and model Dakota Butler. Each artist brought their distinct voice to the ongoing story, which further sparked the fusion of fashion, art, and culture that is KIDS’ raison d’être.
