Culture Week Tbilisi: What to expect!
by Adriano Batista
Tbilisi is set to host a Culture Week from May 9th to May 12th, offering a blend of art, performance, and fashion. The event will take place at Factory Tbilisi, a venue that’s becoming a new cultural landmark.
Following the success of its debut, Culture Week Tbilisi is set to offer an even richer, more immersive experience. Attendees can look forward to a varied program brimming with exhibitions, performances, and interactive experiences, all designed to promote cross-cultural understanding and a shared appreciation for the arts.
A key highlight of this year’s festivities is the integration of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tbilisi, which celebrates fashion as a vital cultural expression. This segment will cast a spotlight on local designers who are making a splash on the international fashion scene, adding another layer to Tbilisi’s cultural fabric.
The event is poised to unfold at Factory Tbilisi, a former Coca-Cola factory being reimagined as a cutting-edge art and culture hub. Here, visitors will be treated to an unforgettable array of art, performance, and creativity.
So far, the lineup for Culture Week Tbilisi includes:
Art exhibitions featuring works by Georgian and international artists.
Documentary screenings, such as “Mary, Marianna, Maria – The Unsung Greek Years of Callas” and films by the acclaimed Reiner Holzemer.
A theater performance by Theatre Factory 42.
A specially curated exhibition by Diane Pernet.
Sculptural displays by Amine Amharech.
Works by Ukrainian artist Roman Mykhailov.
A Georgian scenography exhibition and a special project by scenography students under the guidance of George Alexi-Meskhishvili.
