AMI x ANTOINE DUPONT
by Adriano Batista
AMI is gearing up for the 2023 Rugby World Cup with an ace collaboration alongside rugby player and AMI ambassador Antoine Dupont. This limited-edition capsule collection is all about celebrating the game’s camaraderie and lively spirit.
“Rugby is a sport that wholeheartedly mirrors the values of AMI: it advocates friendship and inclusion, respect, and team spirit. After a series of successful collaborations with various artists, it has been a wonderful experience to create this capsule collection with a decisive sport vibe, and to collaborate with our ambassador and friend Antoine Dupont — whose shirt number on the rugby field happens to be 9, which is my lucky number! At AMI, we share Antoine’s enthusiasm for the World Cup, and we will be cheering for him.” remarked Alexandre Mattiussi, Founder & Creative Director of AMI.
Antoine Dupont echoed the sentiment, noting, “Rugby is first and foremost about team spirit: you share everything with your team and your fans, victories as well as defeats. Rugby brings people together, it unites them, it teaches and encourages solidarity, integrity, and loyalty. These principles are as very important for me as they are for Alexandre Mattiussi and his team: like in a rugby team, they integrated me at the heart of the project, giving the word collaboration its full meaning.”
AMI’s unisex rugby lineup packs a sporty yet sophisticated punch. Think hoodies, tees, and polos with a boxy vibe, along with jackets and caps, all dressed in two classic shades: ivory and navy blue.
You can snag these pieces exclusively in AMI boutiques and select spots in France, the UK, and Japan. And if you’re beyond those borders, no worries – the collection will also strut its stuff on AMI’s global online store at amiparis.com.
As an extra perk, the campaign for this exclusive AMI rugby capsule showcases none other than Antoine Dupont himself. The snapshots are lensed by photographer Darren Gwynn, a regular collaborator with the brand. Check it out below:
