Dior Tears: A Fusion of Elegance and Uniqueness Unveiled in Global Pop-Up Store
by Adriano Batista
Dior launches a global series of pop-up stores to celebrate the Dior Tears capsule collection, a collaboration between Kim Jones and guest designer Denim Tears.
Blending elegance with uniqueness, and casual with classic, this collection of menswear is primarily inspired by denim. Timeless in style, the bags, such as the iconic Saddle and Lingot Dior, as well as the B33 sneakers, are crafted from this material.
In a world of dreams and enchantment, each of these ephemeral boutiques unveiling these models is adorned with monumental installations filled with gigantic inflatables that occupy their interiors. Visible from the surrounding streets, their organic shapes create an inhabited and alternative universe where sounds, shadows, and lights are perceived in a different, filtered manner, evoking a strange and poetic atmosphere.
Enhanced by musical sessions, these spherical creations transform into lively spaces full of surprises. Notably, they are enhanced with video projections that echo the specially designed logo for this Dior collection, presented in an abundance of flowers. This digital production is crafted by the artist Azuma Makoto’s studio and can be downloaded by visitors using a QR code.
An exceptional encounter at the crossroads of art and fashion, eras and cultures.
These pop-up stores can be discovered in London from July 8th to 13th, in Tokyo from July 11th to 30th, in Seoul from July 13th to 22nd, and in Shanghai from July 15th to 25th.
