080 Reborn is committed to the use of reused clothing and circular fashion
by Adriano Batista
This Friday the 080 Reborn fashion show took place, the first second-hand clothing show of 080 Barcelona Fashion, with the aim of transmitting a clear message in favor of reuse and sustainability.
The catwalk featured styles by Fermin+Gilles and second-hand creations from stores such as Fundació Formació i Treball, Solidança, Humana, Las Pepitas, Love Vintage, Victoria, Gi Joe Surplus, Flamingos Vintage Kilo, Fred Perry, Cóndor , Dr. Martens, and Armand Basi. In addition, the Catalan trap singer Lildami has been added to the proposal and has participated as a model in this show.
080 Reborn wanted to take advantage of the visibility of fashion week to raise awareness of the need to extend the life of clothes, reuse and recycle pieces. All this is the result of the Pact for Circular Fashion, promoted by the Generalitat de Catalunya and signed last May, which commits the agents of the textile industry to adopt changes and sustainable measures to reduce the environmental impact of the sector. This pact promotes a voluntary agreement to transform the sector towards a circular model, and currently has 75 adhered entities from the entire textile value chain. The aim is to increase the durability of the products and the percentage of recycled material incorporated in the fabrics, reduce and eliminate the use of harmful materials, increase reuse with the implementation of new business models, selectively collect and value textile waste and develop strategies cleaner and more efficient production.
