The legendary image maker is heading up an online program to find and develop the next generation of fashion photographers. Are you in?

Which fashion photographers do you most look up to? Juergen Teller? Sølve Sundsbø? Craig McDean? While their styles may be completely different, there is one thing that these photography greats have in common… They all learned their craft with visionary fashion photographer, Nick Knight. And now, so can you.
Nick Knight is responsible for some of fashion’s most iconic images: from the Yohji Yamamoto look books to his work with Alexander McQueen and John Galliano. But he is also renowned for pushing the boundaries of fashion photography to the limit. He launched the award-winning live-streaming fashion website, SHOWstudio, in 2000 – five years before the likes of YouTube launched in 2005 – and he has also shot major campaigns and editorials using only his iPhone and a couple of image manipulation apps. Put it this way, the ultimate rule breaker Lady Gaga calls him “God”.
Nick Knight is essentially a byword for innovation and experimentation, so when we heard that he has devised an online talent program dedicated to developing and nurturing emerging photographic talent, it’s safe to say we were intrigued!
Photography: Mastered with Nick Knight is a four-month online program that promises to give unrivalled insight into Knight’s creative process while also helping students to refine their vision, create more innovative work and get the jobs they want. The program is designed for professional photographers, so it will be taught through a mixture of video content, live Q&As, written articles and industry briefs which students can complete at their own pace.
The thing that really got our attention, though, is that Mastered – the company powering the program – have had the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Preen, i-D magazine, Isamaya Ffrench and Pixiwoo either setting briefs or appearing in live Q&As on their other programs, so we’re pretty sure they’ll have an awesome line-up of industry leaders on this course as well.
In fact, we’ve got the inside scoop that SHOWstudio will be setting an exclusive brief to students on the program and will also be hand-picking their favourite projects to feature on the site. If this is a sign of things to come, then we’re sold!
Applications are currently open for Photography: Mastered with Nick Knight. You can find out more about the talent program HERE and thank us later. Good luck!
