Andrea Cammarosano Spring/Summer 2015 Lookbook
by Marlo Saalmink

For Spring/Summer 2015, Andrea Cammarosano plays with the concept behind imperfections whilst confronting our current orderly zeitgeist dominated by sartorial standards. Garments seem illusionary and filligree, inviting for interaction and compelling wardrobe dialogues. Courageous and bold, the silhouettes envelop their wearers in light static and tactile armours.
The silhouettes are dissected in rigid tailored workwear pieces, lighter draped tuniques, boxed sweaters and stern elongated shirting. Finishings and hemlines are raw, clean and visualize the texture of the contrasting fabrics. This is underlined by a study on classic portraits distorted by drapes and applications. Exemplary for SS15, are trompe-l’oeil embossed foam details, giving the illusion of hollowness, where functional pockets appear flat and rigidly deformed.
Foams, knitwear, voiles and poplins are merged, to underline aerial summer breezes, neo-classic tailoring, textural interplay and parallel universes. The Andrea Cammarosano colour palette remains eclectic and imaginative. Shades of blue, glitters, optical whites and reflective surfaces are paired with morose browns, hued yellows and tanned highlights. Illusions are paired with irrational choices, breaking away from orthodoxy through genteel irreverence.
