Trine Lindegaard Fall/Winter 2013 collection entitled “Happiness”, firmly rooted in the embroidery of Fine Cell Work, a social enterprise that trains prisoners in paid, skilled, creative needlework undertaken in the long hours spent in their cells. The designer intends to shed light on a current process implemented in prisons all across the UK – Inmates are filling their hours embroidering highly-craftyed cushions, bags, pictures and patchwork quilts.
Cover story captured by Matt Irwin and art directed by Nicola Formichetti with actor and singer Olly Alexander, an openly gay singer who doesn’t use ambiguity in his lyrics to make him pass for straight, in order to entice a legion of screaming girls. FY! also analyse various points of view of what an outsider is through editorials, texts and interviews with among others Ahmed Abdelrahman, Demna Gvasalia and Henrik Silvius.
