Hypebeast, together with Denim Tears’ Tremaine Emory, will be hosting a digital fashion showcase on Instagram in lieu of school-held graduation runway shows.
Through HYPEBEAST’s IG page, the platform is offering BA and MA graduates of the Class of 2020 from Fashion Programs across the United States an opportunity to present their work.
In the midst of ongoing uncertainties and additional challenges due to COVID-19, many art and fashion colleges have canceled traditional degree showcases. This initiative will allow 5 young designers to receive a personal mentoring session with Emory via Instagram and collaborate with him to sketch a graphic T-shirt. He will then select one winning design to be produced and sold on HBX.com and Instagram as an exclusive collaboration with Denim Tears. All sale profits from the 2020 finalist x Denim Tears collaboration will be rewarded to the winner to fund their future endeavors in fashion.
From January 4th to 18th, eligible students may apply on HYPEBEAST.com to showcase their collections, which will live on @HYPEBEAST’s reels on Instagram. For submission, students must be 2020 graduates of a BA or MA Fashion program at an accredited American university to apply.
