Gosha Rubchinskiy & adidas Team Up Again in Music-Centric Art Project
by Anna Barr

Gosha Rubchinskiy unveils an exciting new collaboration with adidas as well as a live album to celebrate the epilogue of GR-Uniforma’s musical journey. This follows the successful partnership for Gosha’s three-season Football project leading up to the 2018 World Cup.

Inspired by the vintage look of rave and punk kids, Gosha reinterpreted the Adidas German army sneakers created for the Bundeswehr that have become thrift-store staples in the music community over the years. Mixing it with adidas’ technical expertise, Gosha created a collage of different references and materials aiming to shape a universal uniform sneaker.

GR-Uniforma is about community, belonging, and uniform with the aim to unite people from all over the world. The project includes a photography book, short films, clothing collections, and the band GRUPPA, all revolving around the designer’s exploration of music.

The technical sneakers, which will retail at 205€, will be launched alongside the live album of the band GRUPPA’s world tour. After releasing their first album, IZ SKAZKI (“From the Fairytale” in Russian) in April 2019 and inaugurating their first live tour with concerts around Europe and Russia from November 2019, GRUPPA comes back this October with the live version of their debut album. Recorded in part during their first live performance, GRUPPA’s live album takes us back to an abandoned theater in Milan and entrances us with the band’s raw energy. The setlist includes never-before-released tracks as well as original arrangements played live.

GR-Uniforma by Gosha Rubchinskiy x adidas collaboration will launch at the end of the month at selected Comme des Garçons and Dover Street Market stores worldwide and in a carefully curated network of retailers.
