Y-3 GENDO Sneakers
by Adriano Batista
Adidas and Yohji Yamamoto collaborate once again to present one of their most innovative and daring silhouettes to date – the Y-3 GENDO. This sneaker isn’t your run-of-the-mill footwear; it’s a bold statement of innovation and style.
The Y-3 GENDO takes a TPU plate crafted by adidas’ innovation team, a piece originally designed for performance. What sets it apart is that it’s fully hollowed out, creating a visual spectacle that blends seamlessly with the Superstar model. It’s a true fusion of Yohji Yamamoto’s aesthetics and the iconic Three Stripes.
This sneaker made its debut on the Yohji Yamamoto runway, where it boldly explores the concept of negative space and elevation. The hard polymer plate, fully hollowed out, meets a premium leather upper. It’s a testament to the fusion of Yohji’s vision and adidas’ heritage.
But that’s not all. The Y-3 GENDO Superstar dives deep into adidas’ archives, marrying the futuristic midsole plate with the classic Superstar upper. And for those who prefer high-tops, the Y-3 GENDO ProModel is the answer. It replaces traditional laces with a distinctive zip closure, adding an expressive touch.
Check it out below:

Mark your calendars for October 21st, because that’s when the Y-3 GENDO PRO and Y-3 GENDO SUPERSTAR drop. They’ll be available globally at adidas.com/y-3, CONFIRMED, in-store, and selected retailers.
