The Walter Van Beirendonck Fall/Winter 2025 collection reflects a shift in perspective. Instead of letting strong emotions drive the design process, the focus turned inward, leading to a more contemplative approach.

This introspection revealed an unexpected realization: even well-intentioned actions, like the growing trend of vintage and archival clothing, can have unintended consequences. While promoting sustainability, these trends can limit creativity and innovation.

Inspired by this, the designer imagined a world populated by “Alien Friends,” beings that offer new perspectives and possibilities. This concept led to a collection that blends traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge techniques like 3D printing and AI-generated imagery.

From ancient Dutch crafts reimagined in a modern context to “Alien couches” that offer comfort, the collection demonstrates a commitment to innovation and a belief that fear, not boundaries, ultimately limits creativity.
