Vivobarefoot has unveiled the Tabi Gen 01, the world’s first fully custom 3D-printed barefoot sandal. Made to fit the exact shape of the wearer’s foot, it marks a shift away from mass-produced footwear and toward personalized, low-waste design. The first 590 pairs will be available through sign-ups and walk-ins at Vivobarefoot’s London and Prague stores.

The sandal is built using scan-to-print technology, creating a one-to-one match for natural foot movement. Unlike traditional flip-flops, which often restrict foot function, the Tabi Gen 01 mimics the benefits of walking barefoot, improving balance, reducing joint stress, and supporting overall foot health.

Asher Clark, Vivobarefoot’s co-founder and CDO, calls it “simplicity reimagined.” The design takes inspiration from ancient sandals, like those found in Oregon caves and Egyptian artifacts, but updates them with modern sustainability. Since each pair is made on demand, there’s no excess stock, cutting down on waste.

Available in four colors—Obsidian Black, Mineral Grey, Forest Green, and Earth Brown. Check it out below:
